The vocabulary behind the work

Short, accurate definitions of the concepts our practices are built on — written for decision-makers, not just engineers.

LLM (Large Language Model)
A language model trained on large text corpora that generates and reasons over natural language. LLMs power applications such as drafting, summarization, question answering, and conversational interfaces.
Used in: AI & Machine Learning
RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation)
An architecture that retrieves relevant documents from a trusted corpus and supplies them to a language model as context, grounding generated answers in your own content instead of relying on the model's parameters alone.
Used in: AI & Machine Learning
AI Agent
A software system that uses AI models to plan and take multi-step actions toward a goal — calling tools, querying systems, and handing off to humans — rather than only producing single-shot text responses.
Used in: AI & Machine Learning, Process Automation
MLOps
The engineering discipline of operating machine learning reliably: versioning data and models, automating training and deployment, monitoring model behavior in production, and managing the retraining cycle.
Used in: AI & Machine Learning, Cloud & DevOps
DevOps
A set of engineering practices that unifies software development and operations — automated pipelines, infrastructure as code, observability, and shared ownership of reliability — so teams can ship changes quickly without sacrificing stability.
Used in: Cloud & DevOps
Zero Trust
A security architecture that removes implicit trust based on network location: every request is authenticated and authorized based on identity and context, and systems are segmented so a single compromise does not grant broad access.
Used in: Cybersecurity
API (Application Programming Interface)
A defined contract through which software systems exchange data and functionality. Well-designed APIs let systems evolve independently while remaining integrable with each other.
Used in: Custom Software Development, Mobile App Development
Microservices
An architectural style that structures a system as independently deployable services aligned to business capabilities, trading network complexity for team autonomy and independent scaling.
Used in: Custom Software Development, Cloud & DevOps
RPA (Robotic Process Automation)
Software that automates repetitive, rule-based tasks by operating existing application interfaces — a pragmatic automation path where modern APIs are not available. AI automation extends this to document understanding and decision-heavy steps.
Used in: Process Automation
