Case study
Engineering Hayati AI Nexus — a Healthcare Operating System for Indian clinics, hospitals, and pharmacies
Live product: hayatiainexus.com ↗
Constraints
- Front-desk counters must keep working during connectivity drops, then reconcile cleanly when the connection returns (offline-first with governed sync).
- Billing must satisfy Indian GST requirements — multi-rate tax lines, HSN mapping, and e-Invoice IRN generation — with an audit-friendly history.
- The AI layer must operate in multiple Indian languages for real reception workflows.
- Insurance (TPA) reconciliation workflows had to be configurable per deployment rather than assuming any insurer's live network.
The challenge
Indian hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies typically run on disconnected tools — separate systems for reception, appointments, billing, pharmacy stock, and insurance (TPA) reconciliation. The brief was to engineer a single operational platform that unifies those workflows while remaining usable at a front desk where internet connectivity is intermittent.
Context
Hayati AI Nexus is Hayati NextGen Technologies' own flagship product — a Healthcare Operating System (HOS). It was built end to end as a full platform engagement: product design, architecture, implementation, and release engineering. This is the delivery referenced across our site; it is a separate product, not a service we resell.
Architecture
A unified operational spine connects the modules that a care facility uses every day — reception and the physical appointment dashboard, a real-time patient queue display, the doctor dashboard, Smart Billing, a Pharmacy ERP, and TPA reconciliation — so a single action (for example, a digital prescription) can flow across consultation, pharmacy, and billing. Counters are offline-first: they continue operating locally and sync under a governed model when connectivity returns, so multi-branch operations stay consistent.
What we built
The platform was built as a set of role-specific workstations on shared infrastructure: an AI Receptionist that answers calls around the clock in several Indian languages and writes bookings straight into the reception dashboard; a colour-coded appointment dashboard feeding a waiting-room queue display; a doctor dashboard that surfaces history, prescriptions, lab/radiology context, vitals, and allergy alerts before the patient enters; Smart Billing covering OPD, IPD packages, and pharmacy POS with GST invoices, UPI-QR, and barcode lines tied to Pharmacy ERP stock; and a TPA revenue workspace for pre-authorisation, claim documentation, settlement/ERA import, and TPA-wise aging. Interfaces shown in the product are real screens running on staging demo data.
Security & access
Access is role-scoped per workstation (reception, doctor, billing, pharmacy, TPA), and billing keeps an audit-friendly transaction history. Insurer eligibility is never assumed — TPA portal steps are configured per deployment rather than hard-coded, so the system reflects what each facility is actually entitled to.
Outcome
Hayati AI Nexus is a live, in-market product that demonstrates Hayati NextGen Technologies' ability to design and ship a large, multi-module operational platform end to end. We are not publishing facility-level performance figures here: those numbers belong to the operators who run the system, and we do not claim metrics we cannot independently verify.
What we took from it
Building for real front desks forced an offline-first discipline from day one rather than as an afterthought, and the compliance surface (GST, TPA) is best handled as configuration per deployment instead of baked-in assumptions — the same engineering standards we apply to every client engagement.
How it was built
- AI / multilingual voice (AI Receptionist)
- Offline-first local data with governed sync
- GST e-Invoice (IRN) + HSN tax engine
- WhatsApp / SMS messaging
- Role-based multi-branch architecture
